Rapture always seemed a bit more advanced to me so use it more then Dimension. Have all the Digital Sound Factory expansions that I purchased back then installed and running very well on Linux.

None of the Cakewalk plugins can be purchased anymore (sad) got them many years ago on sale. Did you get it recently? If so, I'm sure others would be interested Might as well get it all up to date, even if just 32 bit.ġ9.00 is a great price for those old but great synths. I have all those old downloads, fortunately.

If so, next would be to install the expansion packs. Hopefully I can find it and load it in Reaper. I don't know if this a standalone version or what. but I remember checking the box for desktop icon. I tried installing the update from 1.2 to 1.5 yesterday, didn't think it worked. Weirdly, today I see on my desktop an icon for Dim Pro. I had Rapture LE with sonar but didn't really use it. I used Winetricks to install, with wine 7.2 I think. I can't tell on the synth.Īnyone have any idea how I can figure out if it's 32 or 64 bit? I must have had at least one leftover synth (VSTi), so when I load it, I don't know if it's 32 or 64. I also had tried installing a few months ago. It didn't work right so I uninstalled it. I first tried 32 bit, as I recall that working better on sonar. Weirdly, I can't tell if the version I'm using is 32 bit or 64 bit. Plus all kinds of synthy stuff I don't use, which however could be very useful for anyone who does use it, and happens to have the DP by virtue of owning Cakewalk/sonar. It also comes with a string library, which has some useful patches, mainly high violins and basses. DP has some nice shaping tools, and the sounds seem to have been "sculpted" by the engineers, and they do sound better. This gives me a much-improved French horn, Trumpet and Trombone than the Aria versions, even though they are the same sounds. The main use I have is the Garritan Pocket Orchestra, which is a slimmed-down version that comes in DP. (Aria will load any sfz file, so I've been using Aria for DP's sounds, but they sound better on the actual DP synth).

This allows me to use those sounds in a much better format than the Garritan Aria Player. I have the Cakewalk/sonar Dimension Pro Synth working now.
